The above link gives an outline of what is expected of a learner who wishes to sit the VORT. But what is the VORT in everyday language?
The VORT is a practical driving assessment used to evaluate a drivers ability to operate a vehicle in a safe and competent manner under real life conditions. How do you pass? During your drive you will be instructed to perform 5 slow speed manouvres, (u-turn, 3 point turn, movig off from the kerb, car psrk and reverse paralell park.) these are all worth 2% with a maximum score available of 10%. The other 90% of your score comes frrom the rest of the drive. You may be asked to drive through roundabouts, Stop signs, you will likely drive through school areas and need to watch for children and follow the signage. Moving into traffic at speed, merging, lane changing, reading traffic conditions and many more things. The VORT is a great way to show you understand how traffic works and know that once you are on the road without a supervising driver, you can deal confidently with all road conditions and potential hazards.
